Copying server configurations
If two servers have one or more of the same server roles active, you can copy the configuration of one server to the other.
To copy the configuration, the source, and target servers must be at the same software version and service pack level.
Copying the server configuration copies the following from the source server to the target server:
-
The server roles settings of the server roles that exist on both servers and that are of the same server role Entity that contains a logical, predefined set of components (system software or certified third-party software) deployed in the Data Center and Site Zones that provide specific functionality for the system. type and version.
-
Component configurations (if any).
-
Associations (if any), including Data Sources, IP Pools, Rules, Workstations, Centralized Archiving to Campaigns, Centralized Archiving to Recorders, and Schedule to Recorders.
-
Any settings managed by the Recorder Manager (these settings are copied to the Recorder Manager on the target server).
The target server can include server roles that do not exist on the source server. In this case, the copy process does not change those server roles in any way.
You must have Edit Installation Hierarchy privileges to copy server configurations.
Copying the TDM Recorder server role
If you copy the configuration of a server that has an active TDM Recorder server role, the Voice cards on both the source and target server must be in the Existing state. If both voice cards are not in this state, a message displays indicating the copy operation was successful. However, the Voice card settings are not copied.
To verify that the Voice cards are in the Existing state before copying the server, perform this procedure on both the source and target servers:
-
Open the Recorder Manager application on the server that includes the TDM Recorder server role.
-
In the Recorder Manager application, go to General Setup. Under Voice Cards, select Card. The Voice card status displays under the Status column in the panel on the left side.
