Configure IPSI settings
Configure IPSI network cards and filters to configure IP recording in a BT Link environment. TDM recording Recording environment where trunk-side recording taps directly into a T1 or E1 line to record all incoming calls at the demarcation point before going to a switch. does not require the Cards and Filters page to be completed.
Procedure
-
In a TDM Recorder (BT IP Recorder), choose General Setup > Capture Settings > IPSI Settings.
-
Complete the following settings:

Description
IPSI Parameters
Unicast Mode
Select this check box to enable BT Unicast mode. If enabled, the Directory Service on the Recorder publishes TTPs to the Proxy Directory Service on the BT Profile server (or another Windows-based server), which then sends unicast messages to all known IPSIs. Finally, the appropriate IPSI responds directly to the Recorder. If not enabled, the BT Directory Service on the Recorder publishes the Recorder TFTPs to all BT components using multicast messages.
This option must be selected for a whole cluster of Recorders and cannot be mixed between Recorders on a cluster.
Max Recordings
Type the maximum number of channels that can be recorded with this card. This value is typically a multiple of 32.
Record On Tap
Choose Always as the record on tap option. Other options include Always, Never, and In Fallback. These define when the Recorder is to record calls using tap sense when other Recording Control Types fail. Default is Always. With the Always setting, the Recorder always records on tap when necessary. With the Never setting, the Recorder never records on tap. With the In Fallback setting, the Recorder records using tap sense only when in In Fallback (backup) mode.
Max Record Time (sec)
Maximum record time for a single call segment. Optional. Default: 3600.
Rollback Buffer (ms)
Interval (milliseconds) to automatically capture voice before the Start Record command begins. The buffer enables the Recorder to compensate for delays in CTI processing and automatically rollback the voice and begin recording before the actual start record request is received.
Range: 0-1,000. Default: 1,000.
Recommended: 250.
Fallback Time (sec)
This field does not apply, as only tap-sense based recording is performed.
Maximum elapsed time before the Recorder switches to tap sense mode if there is a loss of CTI feed. Default: 0.
Primary and Secondary TFTP Server Parameters
Name
The name of the NIC.
IP Address
The IP address of the primary or secondary TFTP server.
Subnet Mask
The IP address of the subnet mask. The subnet mask is used to determine the subnet to which an IP address belongs.
Destination Subnet
The IP address of the host (workstation) address, as described in Subnet Mask above.
Next Hop Router
The IP address of the next hop router.
Primary and Secondary Directory Service Route Parameters
The Recorder uses these addresses to send unicast requests to the proxy Directory Service using the Directory Service on the Recorder.
If a heartbeat fails during operation, then the IPSI Recorder will continually attempt to re-establish the connection and the heartbeat over the failed path. Likewise, if an interface is not connected during the initial startup, the IPSI/Voice Recorder will continually attempt to establish the connection and the heartbeat over that path. If a secondary proxy is defined, the Recorder begins communication with the backup proxy while continuing to communicate with the primary proxy.
Subnet Mask
Subnet Mask. Type the IP address of the server running the primary proxy Directory Service. The subnet mask is used to determine the subnet to which an IP address belongs.
Destination Subnet
Type the IP address of the host (workstation) address, as described in Subnet Mask above.
Next Hop Router
The IP address of the next hop router.
