Enable HTTPS

To enable HTTPS encryption of all data that is transmitted on the network by all applications and servers in the system, complete this procedure.

This procedure is only one of several procedures required to set up HTTPS for the servers and applications in the enterprise.

Before completing this procedure, read the Security Configuration Guide. This guide discusses all procedures required to set up HTTPS for all servers and applications deployed both in the data center and at remote Sites.

Procedure

  1. Go to System Management . Under Enterprise, select Security.

  2. In the Installations tree (left pane), select the Enterprise node, a Site Group node, or a Site node where you want to enable HTTPS.

    • Select the Enterprise node to encrypt data transmitted on the network by all applications and all servers in the enterprise.

    • Select a Site Group or Site node to encrypt only the data transmitted on the network by the applications and servers that reside under the selected node.

  3. If collapsed, expand the HTTPS section.

  4. Select Enable HTTPS.

  5. From the HTTPS Protocol and Cipher Configuration list, select a protocol and cipher suite:

    • Modern 2024 provides the strongest security for WFO 2024R1 systems. Can only be applied to servers running WFO 2024R1.

    • Modern 2022 provides the strongest security for WFO 2022R1 systems. Can be applied to servers running WFO 2022R1 or 2024R1.

    • Intermediate 2024 is the default value and can only be applied to servers running WFO 2024R1. This option supports multiple versions of TLS.

    • Intermediate 2022 can be applied to servers running WFO 2022R1 or 2024R1. This option is best for backward compatibility as it supports the most versions of TLS.

    • Custom is reserved for technical support and troubleshooting.

The 2022 suites can be applied to servers running WFO 2022R1 or WFO 2024R1. However, the 2024 suites are only for servers running WFO 2024R1.

  6. Click Save or Save and Apply to Children as appropriate.
