When a user acknowledges an alarm, the Alarm Service component on the managed server Server that is managed by the Enterprise Manager application. moves the XML file for the alarm. The Alarm Service component moves the XML file from the install directory\Software\ContactStore\Alarms\Active directory to the install directory\Software\ContactStore\Alarms\History directory.
Alarms can be acknowledged from the Alarm Dashboard of the Enterprise Manager. In this case, the Enterprise Manager sends an alarm acknowledgment request to the Enterprise Manager Agent Web application installed on every system server that communicates with the Enterprise Manager regarding any configuration changes or alarm messages for the relevant server. on the managed server over the HTTP(S) connection. The Enterprise Manager Agent communicates this request to the Alarm Service component on the server. The Alarm Service moves that XML file for that alarm from theinstall directory\Software\ContactStore\Alarms\Active directory to the install directory\Software\ContactStore\Alarms\History directory.
