Create the application server cluster in Enterprise Manager

Task 2 of 2 required to create an application server cluster.

To create the application server cluster in Enterprise Manager, complete this task.

Before you begin 

  • Determine the address required to connect to the load balancing device installed in the previous task.

  • Ensure that a valid Management Service Account (MSA) is configured in the System Management Module that allows performing suite-wide system management activities from a single, Web-based application, the Enterprise Manager., Enterprise, Enterprise Settings screen.

    If your enterprise uses a Database Management Service Account (DMSA), also verify that a valid DMSA is configured on the Enterprise Settings screen.

    For details about configuring or changing these accounts, see the System Administration Guide.

  • Once you begin this task, complete all steps of this task before using Enterprise Manager to make any other configuration change. Do not stop in the middle of this task to make configuration changes that are not related to creating a server cluster.

  • Complete the steps of this task exactly in the order described.

Procedure 

  1. Configure the Enterprise Manager Location settings

  2. Create a server cluster node in the Installations tree

  3. Add the primary server to the cluster node

  4. Activate the Framework Applications server role

  5. Add servers to the cluster

  6. Stop and Start the Watchdog and WFO_ProductionDomain_ProductionServer services on the clustered servers

  7. Verify that the cache is set up correctly

  8. Connect all servers in the cluster to the load balancing device

  9. Specify the load balancing device address in the Enterprise Manager Location settings
