Cisco CallManager with JTAPI

Use the following procedure to create a Cisco JTAPI adapter.

Procedure 

  1. Click General Setup > Integration Adapters > Settings.

  2. Click Create, then select Cisco JTAPI Adapter.

  3. Specify settings for this adapter in the right-hand pane, referring to the following table (all fields are required unless otherwise indicated):

    Field

    Description

    Adapter Name

    Type a unique name for this adapter. Do not use any special characters or characters that truncate xml. This field is not case sensitive.

    Description

    Optional: Type a description of the adapter.

    Adapter Type

    A read-only field that lists the adapter selected above.

    Startup Type

    Select a startup type: Automatic, Manual, or Disabled.

    DataSource

    Select a data source Third-party systems that provide data to the system, including employee and device states, and data change events. Typical data sources are phone switches, PBXs, or LANs..

    Cisco CTI Manager Server

    Type the host name or IP address of the JTAPI sever. The default is server.

    Use Backup Server

    Select this check box to enable a back up server, then specify its name or IP address below.

    Backup Cisco CTI Manager Server

    Type the host name or IP address of the backup JTAPI sever. The default is server2.

    JTAPI User

    Type a login name used to access the JTAPI server. The default is login.

    JTAPI Password

    Click the Password button to enter a password used to access the JTAPI server.

    Use Extension Mobility Login

    This setting enables the use of Cisco Extension Mobility user names as logins. (This is the Cisco Unified Communications Manager UserID that the user enters when they access Extension Mobility. You must then associate the agent with this UCM UserID by entering it in the Employee ID field in Enterprise Manager, under User Management Module that an administrator uses to create a profile for each employee in their organization. > Employee > Profile.

    Note that to use Extension Mobility, the data source must use hybrid seating or free seating.

  4. Under Advanced Settings, use the Key and Value fields to enter any proprietary pairs that are in use in your system.

  5. Click Save. The adapter appears in the left-hand pane.

  6. Click Restart.

When working with several UCMs, the installed client should be the earliest version (for example, when working with UCM 6 & 7, the JTAPI client should be from UCM 6).
